He played for teams in the AHL, IHL, ECHL, Europe. and also represented his country on 4 different occasions at international tournaments. Mike then coached in junior (AWHL, NAHL, NPHL), pro (AHL, WCHL) and two national teams. Mike was the GM of the Tampa Bay Lightning's AHL affiliate, and oversaw Tampa's minor league system. - Goalies: Joey Ali, First attended Pro-Formance at the age of 13; his insight is brought forth from years of playing experience; Junior B (PJHL), Junior A (AWHL) & College (NCAA, conference MCHA). He received his scholarship after winning a national title at the Junior A level. - Maximizing Your Camp Experience
- The do’s and don’ts of attending camps. Simple, practical ways players can stand out, interact with coaches, and make the most of opportunities — not just at Global, but at team ID camps and main camps.
- Understanding the Hockey Pathway: Junior → College → Pro
- A clear breakdown of the hockey pathway — helping families understand how junior, college, and pro levels connect, when key decisions matter, and opportunities that are often undervalued.
- Choosing the Right Path (Fit vs Level)
- Understanding the importance of fit, development, and long-term progression — not just chasing the highest level. Addresses the common questions: where should I play, what level, and for who?
- You Can’t Control Junior Hockey: What Really Changes
- A straightforward look at the transition from minor hockey to junior — where roles are earned, movement is constant, and players must take ownership. Covers the junior environment, where coaches are hired to do a job by ownership, with decisions driven by performance, roster needs, and team direction — not outside influence.
- The Mind Game: Training for Success
- Led by Dennis Johnston, former national-level figure skater and pioneer in hockey power skating development, with experience working with the Vancouver Canucks and top junior programs. This session focuses on the mental side of performance — including mindset training, handling pressure, and building habits for long-term success.
- Open Q&A
- Parents, this is your opportunity to get clear, honest answers — no hype, just real information. Held at the conclusion of camp, this session allows families to reflect on the weekend and ask the right questions moving forward. Led by Mike Butters with special guests, players and families can ask questions directly and gain insight, clarity, and perspective on the hockey landscape.
